Scholarship Opportunity for Undergraduate Students 2025

OVERVIEW

China petroleum pipeline engineering company limited (CPP), is a construction company with a focus in renewal energy space specializing in oil and gas, electrical and telecommunications engineering refineries among others fields. Currently CPP is the main contractor for the construction of the east African crude oil pipeline project from Uganda to Tanga in Tanzania.

CPP is pleased to announce a USD 30,000 Scholarship Program as part of its National/Local Content commitment under the EACOP project, aimed at supporting academically promising and financially disadvantaged Ugandan undergraduate students.

This scholarship initiative aims to empower students by covering tuition and functional fees for the remainder of their university education (up to 3 years). The program gives priority to Engineering disciplines, though students pursuing other related degree programs may also apply.

ELIGIBILITY, PRIORITY AREAS & GUIDELINES

CPP remains committed to promoting inclusive growth and empowering local talent.

Applicants must:

  • Be Ugandan nationals, with priority given to students from the following districts:
    Hoima, Kikuube, Kakumiro, Kyankwanzi, Mubende, Gomba, Sembabule, Lwengo, Kyotera, Rakai, and other surrounding districts.
  • Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and have maintained a Second-Class upper academic standing or higher.
  • Must be enrolling in Year 2 study by August 2025 for the Academic Year 2025-2026.
  • Currently undertaking an engineering programme at Kyambogo University.
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil and Building Engineering
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering
  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunications Engineering
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering and Management
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Automotive and Power Engineering
  • Bachelor of Industrial Engineering and Management
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Process Engineering
  • Bachelor of Mechatronics and Biomedical Engineering
  1. Copy of National ID (both sides, showing district of origin)
  2. Recommendation letter
  3. Most recent CGPA
  4. Proof of admission to Kyambogo University
  • Covers tuition fees only, for up to three (3) academic years.
  • Continued support is subject to maintaining:
    • Good conduct, as verified by the university
    • Maintain a good CGPA not below second class.
    • The candidate must not be under any other scholarship.
    • Candidates must be joining their second year of study.
    • Candidates must prove that they are financially disadvantaged
    • Females and PWDs are highly encouraged to apply
